Can I Row Today?Rising river levels can carry debris ranging from small branches to large logs, creating hazards for all rowing shells. Debris is often most common during and shortly after high water. Whenever possible, wait 24 hours after the river crests before rowing to allow debris to clear.
View USGS Gage Height Membership Handbook | Flow Rate Policies WRA uses the following flow rate guidelines, measured in cubic feet per second (cfs), when river debris is not a concern. Keep in mind that flow readings from Valley Center take about 12 hours to reach Wichita and do not account for rainfall that occurs downstream.
500 - 1,000 cfs
1,500 - 2,000 cfs
2,000 - 2,500 cfs
