Class Type: Learn To Row
Take this 5-session class and learn to row on your own. This class offers individualized instruction and a chance to take small steps so you are more confident on the water. Graduates of this class are eligible to become members of WRA and use club equipment.
A class with morning times may be available if there is enough interest. If you are interested, please email our Learn To Row instructor here.
By registering, participants are agreeing that they are able to accomplish the following skills: tread water for 5 minutes; swim 50 m (two laps of a pool); lift 30 pounds overhead; and squat, bend, and reach with full range of motion. If you have concerns regarding any of these requirements, please contact the instructor before registering.
Feel free to email our Learn To Row instructor here with any questions.
What you need before you row: You will need to sign a waiver prior to your first class. See the box below titled "What to Bring" for information and links to these forms. Because of this paperwork it's good to show up a few minutes early the first day, if possible.

Cancellation due to weather
WRA makes every effort to provide you with a safe and enjoyable class at the planned time. However, sometimes weather or river conditions force us to reschedule on short notice. This is an outdoor sport and we will conduct the class in any weather except thunderstorms, very high winds or flooding of the river. If this happens we’ll work with you to make up the class at a time that fits your schedule. The instructor will contact you via email if the class needs to be cancelled due to weather. If you have questions feel free to email our Learn To Row instructor here.
